Buccini Pollin Group, Inc. (BPG), in partnership with the Riverfront Development Corporation (RDC) and the City of Wilmington, proudly announces its latest multifamily residential development at Justison Landing. The 164-unit luxury apartment community continues BPG’s longstanding commitment to revitalizing the Wilmington Riverfront. Last week’s groundbreaking event featured remarks from City of Wilmington Mayor John Carney, RDC Executive Director Megan McGlinchey, and BPG Founder Rob Buccini before the ceremonial shoveling, which included former Mayor and RDC Executive Mike Purzycki.

The $56.5 million development, located at 308 Justison Street, will bring a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments to the heart of the Riverfront, with floor plans ranging from 600 to 1,100 square feet.

Designed by Philadelphia-based architecture firm DIGSAU and constructed by BPGS Construction, the seven-story, 162,000 SF building will offer a wealth of indoor and outdoor amenities designed to foster community and connection, including a private pool and courtyard with grilling stations, a rooftop terrace with outdoor dining, a communal kitchen and resident lounge, a fitness center, coworking spaces, a billiards room, and bike storage.

The apartments are thoughtfully designed to meet the diverse needs of today’s renters. Select units will offer private balconies, terraces, or convenient walk-up access, while every unit will include modern finishes such as light wood-tone flooring, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, in-unit laundry, and large windows that provide ample natural light and stunning riverfront views.

“This project is a great example of the power of public-private partnerships and a shared vision for Wilmington’s Riverfront,” said Mayor John Carney. “With 164 new apartments and millions in investment, we’re not only expanding housing options – we’re creating jobs, enhancing walkability, and building a stronger, more vibrant city for everyone.”

The project builds on BPG’s long track record of transformative development along the Riverfront, with nearly two-decades of strategic planning and investment in the area. In the mid-2000s, BPG responded to an RFP issued by the RDC to redevelop Justison Landing. This initial partnership unlocked the potential of the Riverfront, spurring years of development by BPG, including The Westin Hotel, Justison Landing Condominiums, The Residences at Justison Landing, The Residences at Harlan Flats, Homewood Suites, and Constitution Yards Beer Garden.

The new apartment community represents the culmination of that long-term vision, further enhancing the vibrancy of the Riverfront and creating a walkable, mixed-use environment that has become a hallmark of BPG’s commitment to Wilmington. The project also supports the relocation and expansion of Constitution Yards, ensuring it remains a beloved seasonal attraction.

“This new development reflects our long-standing relationship with the Riverfront Development Corporation, the City of Wilmington, and all of our project partners” said Rob Buccini, Founder of Buccini Pollin Group.

“In today’s turbulent economy, capital for new multifamily development is limited. What gives us the confidence to keep developing here is the common-sense approach of our local government, who understand the importance of attracting capital and the value of progress at the municipal level. It’s something we highlight to our lenders, and we’re really appreciative of Mid Penn Bank for their continued belief in our city.”

This latest Justison Landing project is part of BPG’s broader commitment to delivering best-in-class residential properties across the Mid-Atlantic. With nearly $200 million in multifamily financing secured despite the challenging lending environment, BPG’s active pipeline reflects strong confidence in both the demand for luxury apartment living and the company’s development strategy. Current projects under construction or in development include:

  • The Press at 801 N Orange Street in Wilmington, a 243-unit community slated for delivery in Summer 2025.
  • The Standard at Market West, currently entering Phase 3 to add 97 units to the existing 266-unit conversion of the former Nemours building.
  • STAR Campus Apartments in Newark, DE, a 229-unit community at the University of Delaware’s innovation district, which broke ground earlier this month.

In total, BPG’s multifamily portfolio encompasses over 2,500 units developed and 6,750 units managed by ResideBPG, the firm’s residential property management affiliate. This includes management of properties for respected partners like Pettinaro and Apennine Development Co., further reinforcing BPG’s leadership in the region’s multifamily sector.

The Justison Landing community is expected to be complete in Summer 2026 and create over 210 construction jobs throughout its build.
