“Buccini/Pollin Group and Method Co. debuted The Quoin, a 24-room boutique hotel with a 155-seat restaurant, in September. Situated inside a Frank Furness-designed 1885 bank building, the new spot has been billed as Wilmington’s first luxury boutique hotel. Spanning 27,000 square feet, the renovation cost $17 million and incorporated elements from its Victorian roots. Wilmington-based Buccini/Pollin owns the property and tapped Philadelphia-based firms Method Co. and Stokes Architecture to design the space. Once home to the Security Trust & Safe Deposit Co., the Quoin today features a rooftop bar, plus space for weddings and events. Situated in a historic section of Wilmington, the hotel is tapping into a burgeoning high-end scene in the city, helping attract visitors to the region.”
