In 2015, The Buccini/Pollin Group in correlation with BPGS Construction was thrilled to be able to exceed their goals for their annual Season of Giving. In addition to supporting The St. Patrick’s Center with a clothing drive and the Boys & Girls Club with a toy drive, The Buccini/Pollin Group participated in adopt-a-family. All of the adopt-a-families this year all came from the Southbridge Neighborhood House. Additionally, BPGS Construction and The Buccini/Pollin Group “adopted” children for the holidays through the Kind to Kids Foundation.
Kind to Kids is a local non-profit here in Delaware that provides resources and aid to children in Delaware’s foster care system. Children are provided with a duffel bag including a book reminding them how special they are along with a hand-knit blanket to help ease their transition to a foster home. Additionally, Kind to Kids provides experiences and outings otherwise not available to them and provides life skills classes to the children.
Examples of life skills classes offered at Kind to Kids include making positive choices and hygiene for teenagers. For those aging out of the system, classes on preparing a budget, resume and interview skills help them get on their feet with a plan for their future. During the holidays, Kind to Kids ensures children in Delaware’s foster system have a Christmas through their annual toy and book drive.
