The Buccini/Pollin Group is a proud sponsor of the Wilmington Green Box, a new initiative that brings fresh fruits, vegetables and homegrown products to the neighborhoods throughout the city of Wilmington. The Green Box, is an actual food cart, comprised of a vintage ice box from the Victorian era painted green. The box is also green in the fact that it takes virtually no external energy to operate.
The founders of Wilmington Green Box are finalists for ArtPlace America’s 2016 National Creative Placemaking Fund! The hope is to eventually create a storefront that will bring artists, local farms, healthy food companies, developers, and designers together to creatively build a modern, redesigned structure composed of recycled shipping containers. These containers will be infused with artistic expression and sustainability principals to provide our community with a unique storefront structure that will make fresh produce and healthy goods accessible and affordable.
