Wilmington-based developer The Buccini/Pollin Group is please to celebrate the official grand opening of Le Cavalier at the Green Room, one year since opening its doors amid the COVID-19 pandemic!

Joined by City of Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki, Chef-Partner Tyler Akin, and HOTEL DU PONT General Manager Greg Kavanagh, BPG and PM Hotel officials Dave Pollin, Rob Buccini, Chris Buccini, and Joseph Bojanowski cut the ceremonial ribbon (finally!) on the historically renovated restaurant last Thursday, September 9th. Not only did the occasion mark one year since the opening of Le Cavalier, but also the full realization of the brasserie concept that was always intended during the re-imagination of the HOTEL’s revered restaurant. Following the celebration, Le Cavalier announced the launch of lunch service and expanded dinner services, allowing the restaurant to serve the Wilmington community 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The approachable French brasserie, recently named one of Philadelphia Magazine’s Top 50 Restaurants and a finalist for Hemispheres “Best New Restaurant” awards, is known for serving innovative riffs on the French classics and seamlessly blending old-school with the new, and that now extends to lunch.

Starting today, Monday, September 13, Chef-Partner Tyler Akin’s lunch menu will be available Monday through Friday from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The menu will include signature salads including Caesar, Salade du Moment (grilled yellow squash, figs, Bulgarian feta, Urfa walnuts, charred peach vinaigrette), and Salade de Canard (confit, frisee, poached egg, warm vinaigrette, apple, pomegranate). The Le Big Cav Burger, previously only available during brunch, will now become a lunchtime staple on weekdays. Options like merguez and crab cake sandwiches round out the menu; which you can view in full here. All items are available for dine-in, room service or pick-up.

With this announcement, the restaurant is now open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with evolved menus that truly bring the original vision for this restaurant to life. Reservations are available via OpenTable.
