Ten years ago, The Buccini/Pollin Group implemented the Neal Goldberg Spirit Award in memory of our dear friend and coworker, Neal Goldberg. Neal was a good friend to many and always showed a fun-loving spirit and a big heart. Despite the many challenges he faced with regard to his illness, Neal always was ready to assist anyone and remained committed to the company and to his job. Neal never complained nor did he let it affect his love and zest for life.
Neal demonstrated resilience and strength that is worthy of being recognized and remembered, and it is because of this spirit and dedication that this award was created. In memory of Neal, this annual award goes to the individual who epitomizes the spirit and heart exhibited by Neal.
This year, the award was given to Sallie Hendricks, ResideBPG Property Manager for The Residences at Mid-town Park. Her skills, knowledge, willingness to help others, and dedication to both BPG and the community, make Sallie a worthy winner of the Neal Goldberg award.
In addition to performing her job at an exemplary level, Sallie demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to her team and the culture of who we are as a company. Sallie started with BPG in 2016 as the property manager of MKT, which included 10 different buildings at the time. Sallie worked tirelessly creating a thriving office by motivating her team with leasing contests, and slowly but surely they began to increase occupancy across the board. There is nothing Sallie will not try, from making cooking videos to engage her residents to interviewing her employees for award nominations.
Sallie was one of the first volunteers to participate in the Culture Club, a club designed to bring employees of different divisions together and create a common vision that embodies the BPG culture. Sallie also sits on the board of both Downtown Visions and Main Street Wilmington with passion and dedication in making Downtown Wilmington a better place to live for all.
Runner’s up for the award included Mike Fallon, ResideBPG Leasing Professional, and Laura Alvarez, Accounts Receivable Supervisor/Leasing Administrator.
