Dave Chappelle thinks his rapper pal Talib Kweli is a big deal. So does Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. And so does Delaware, where Kweli is headed next week.
Talib Kweli, one of the greatest rappers of all time, will headline the Main Hall at The Queen Wilmington on Nov 5. Regardless of your vaccination status, guests are required to wear masks for this show.
Most of the artists that get booked at The Queen are bands and singer-songwriters. But the Buccini Pollin Group (BPG), which began operating the venue in July 2020, has set its sights on attracting more diverse artists, which is why the company is excited to have an artist of Talib Kweli’s stature on its biggest stage.
“Hosting a legendary hip-hop artist such as Talib Kweli is a perfect example of our new vision being put to work,” said Sam Blumin, general manager of The Queen.
“Not only does a genre like hip-hop resonate with a vast portion of Delaware locals, being able to bring in a NYC-based artist proves that Wilmington is geographically positioned to be a successful city for routing tours on the East Coast.”
