The BPG internship program continues to serve as a launching pad for the next generation of professionals. This year, BPG proudly welcomed 22 interns to Wilmington, including 12 full-time college interns and 10 high school students through the BPG U program.
The BPG U program, provided rising seniors with an inside look at real estate development. Over two weeks, students from Freire Charter School rotated through roles with BPGS Construction, marketing, accounting, and other departments. This structure gave them a complete view of how each team contributes to BPG’s mission. By connecting with professionals in every division, the students experienced what it takes to transform ideas into thriving communities.
Meanwhile, the 12 full-time college interns joined BPG in roles tailored to their majors and long-term career goals. They worked alongside industry leaders in development, marketing, finance, asset management, and construction. Their assignments allowed them to apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects, making meaningful contributions while sharpening their professional skills.
Throughout the summer, both programs emphasized mentorship and exposure. Interns attended sessions with BPG executives, where leaders shared career advice and insights into the industry. Networking opportunities helped the students build relationships that will support them well beyond the program. These experiences also highlighted Wilmington’s growth and the impact BPG continues to have on the city.
As the summer concluded, each intern presented their projects and shared the lessons they gained from their experience. These presentations highlighted their dedication, creativity, and ability to apply new skills. BPG executives, associates, and community partners attended the final showcase to celebrate the students’ achievements.
Many participants left the program with confidence in their career paths and plans for further education. The exposure they gained through BPG prepared them to step forward as future leaders in their chosen fields.
