Saturday morning October 12th, 2019, over 70 associates, friends and family of The Buccini/Pollin Group (BPG), BPGS Construction (BPGS) and Deseta, united together, walking for one cause – to help fight the deadly disease of breast cancer in Making Strides of Wilmington Breast Cancer Walk at the Harriet Tubman Riverfront Park.
Making Strides is now the largest network of breast cancer events in the nation, funding research, providing free support services through The American Cancer Society (ACS) and this year, in honor of associate, Ed Levering’s late wife, over $12,000 was raised through donations and t-shirt sales by the, “Walk for Pat” team. These donations help fund ACS’s groundbreaking breast cancer research and provide patient services like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near treatment, and a live 24/7 cancer helpline. All of this has helped lower the death rate by 89 percent over the last 30 years.
