Mr. Miller is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Washington, DC based PM Hospitality Strategies, Inc. and Executive Vice President of The Buccini/Pollin Group. PMHS is a hotel/hospitality management company initiated by Mr. Miller and two other Cornell graduates in 1996. Since co-founding, PMHS has been actively involved in realizing 23 separate hotel projects – providing services from start-up to day-to-day operations. PMHS has received several prestigious awards in its 10+ years including The HSMAI’s Platinum Adrian Award for Best Hotel Advertising. Recently, a framework agreement was executed for a five-star hotel in Taiyuan, Shanxi. The Buccini/Pollin Group and PMHS have also opened an office in Beijing.
Mr. Miller’s dossier of experience pre PMHS, includes management roles with Marriott, Westin and Doubletree Hotels. During his early operations career, Mr. Miller served on management teams for two Mobil Five Star Award winning properties - the Arizona Biltmore (Westin) and Camelback Inn (Marriott). Mr. Miller has extensive knowledge of project development, franchise, strategic planning, financial valuation and appraisal. Prior to the creation of PMHS, he served as the Regional Development Director for Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts covering a 10-state region. As a manager for the leading hospitality consulting firm during the 1980s, he completed numerous development planning, site selection, market study and financial feasibility analysis for a wide range of lodging projects. Since the founding of PMHS, Mr. Miller has directed the pre-opening planning and day-to-day operations for over two dozen hotel projects.
Mr. Miller received a degree from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration in 1984.
Mr. Miller actively serves on a several advisory and steering committees for hotel and tourism education, was recently elected Treasurer of a Northern Virginia convention bureau, and is a member of the Potomac Officers Club of Metro DC.
